To make every single detail personal was the idea of our wedding. I wanted it to be creative and at the same time special and meaningful. So when Mel and I decided to finally tie the knot, I made sure that all the little details will be taken care of especially those for people who have been part of our lives in the past decade.
a Instead of a regular Save the Date card, I made our principal sponsors, entourage, and our officiating priest a personalized card. It was a save the date at the same time, kind of a proposal card or something, letting them know why we wanted them be part of our wedding.
This one is the original official logo. It then changed along the way because I kept on changing my mind. Blame Pinterest. LOL I wanted to include a lot of natural colors, leaves, and things that are industrial. Thus, we ended up with a modern industrial theme, which one of the things I love about our wedding. It was something different and we stayed true to our own individual creativity.
The truth is, we wanted to have a budget-friendly wedding but I don't want to compromise all of my creative ideas. One of my successful game plans was to ask my girls, the female entourage who are my sisters, cousins, friends and nieces to have their dresses made individually to their favorite dressmaker or designer on their own, pay for it and take home the dress after the party. I provided them the fabric and left a note saying: "Turn this piece into something stylish, surprise me at my wedding!" Everyone walked down the aisle in style.
To match our modern industrial theme, we opted for an outdoor venue, definitely not a garden or a beachside, and this new hotel in Naga, The Carmen Hotel was the only hotel with a rooftop. We booked it immediately after the first ocular and made sure that the sunset is perfect because Mel and I love the golden hour. Here's the photo of the venue:
It's kinda weird that despite being both a music lover, Mel and I don't have a team song or a specific favorite song. I always wanted to play music with him. I know how talented of a guitar player he is and I used to sing for a band so imagining us in one stage was like a dream collab project for the two of us. So after further exploring our playlists, we ended up with the song Your Universe by Rico Blanco, because "You can thank the stars all you want but, I'll always be a lucky one". Lol That was a punchline though.
The wedding invitation was something I designed myself. I wanted to maximize my skills and add personal touches in all of our wedding elements. The output turned out really nice though. It was simple but full of details. Good thing I have friends who are more of a designer than I do who offered help to do the illustrations.
As someone who works in the creative industry, I think the expectation was to be involved down to the smallest details, which I did. These little details from our wedding, they weren't all wedding goals but despite being maybe cliche to some, these are important to us. Having all these thoughtful details made our wedding truly feels like us.
