Having worked in the wedding industry for some time as an event stylist, I knew exactly what my wedding should be like. I wanted to get married in an intimate church. I wanted it to look intact and where I can see everyone's reactions. I'm also the kind of person who's not really into making a scene or an attention so I opted for a short aisle to walk down. Yup total of 21 steps.
Mel and I love the golden hour and are both outdoor persons. We have always wanted to share the joy we feel each time we witness the sunset with our loved ones. We wanted to celebrate our union outdoors in a most natural vibe, in a modern set up, on a rooftop with our closest friends and family, less program more social hours, family-style seating, live acoustic music, natural greens and a tablescape of our decade worth of memories. There were no stage and no fancy backdrops where couple would normally sit the entire program. It was a simple set up with thoughtful elements of our efforts and our personalities.
It wasn’t perfectly executed as I imagined it while planning. There were a couple of things that I wish I was able to pull off, some regrets and miscommunications, but it was the best day ever as cliché as it sounds. Even the weather celebrated with us. After days and nights of raining in Naga, the weather on that day magically turned out breezy for our rooftop wedding.
I'm leaving you my favorite wedding photos beautifully captured by my friends from Oak St. Studios, Jonathan and Maika in this post and I promised to make another one, a more detailed post with wedding preparation tips, and ideas. In the meantime, enjoy the visuals!

FAVORITE REACTIONS FROM OUR WEDDING

My favorite. Didn't expect to see Mel crying, he used to be someone who's always in control of his emotions but on our wedding day, he loosen up himself.

My sister, Audrey glowing in all of her shots.

My niece, Miyu, right after the priest announced to kiss the bride. LOL

My girl entourage seems to be the happiest on that day. Love these girls so much!
I will forever remember 5 in the afternoon celebrating our wedding on a rooftop with our closest friends and family, the most perfect weather, cool crisp summer air, beautiful sunset and playing music with the same boy I fell in love with 10 years ago. For the first time in a decade, our story felt exactly how Jane Austen describes grace, bliss, comfort and love in her books.
